Q. I already train in another art / style, is it okay to train with you as well?
A. Simple as is YES. Cross training is very important and limiting yourself to one pool of knowledge with affect you in the long run. We all actively cross train at the club and encourage others to do so.

Q. I don't think I'm fit enough to train, should I join a gym first?
A. Part of your training is not only to increase you knowledge, but to also improve your fitness and conditioning. No one walks into a gym / club already at the required level (without prior training). Do you think the massive guy at the gym with bulging muscles just turned up already like that? It's our job to get you fitter, stronger and faster in the classes's :-)

Q. Do you teach children as well?
A. At the moment we don't. The youngest age is 16, though we will teach from 14+, but this is very rare and this needs to be discussed with the coach before training takes place. This is usually for gifted children who are already of an acceptable physical development for the level of training required. We hope to start a child specific class (10yrs +) in 2005.

Q. I'm scared and shy, will I get bullied or hurt in class?
A. We do not tolerate bullying in any shape or form. Anyone thought to be bullying will be asked to leave the club. Training is always done in a fun and laid back way. Though intention is not to hurt anyone, from time to time accidents do happen, though they are avoided as much as possible.

Q. I'm a woman and don't want to train with men, is that okay?
A. We do try to encourage women to train with the men (as well as the other women) as much as possible. After all most attacks on women will come from men, so it'll only seems sensible to train to beat a possible attacker. That said if you speak to a coach in private before under taking training, he will make sure you only train with other women. Sexual harassment is not tolerated at the club and everyone is treated as equals.

Q. I really want to train, but don't want to come along on my own, is there anything I can do?
A. Turning up to a class full of people you don't know is always very hard. We will do our best to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as you can. A coach will always spend a lot of time helping you during your first few sessions and if you feel very out of your depth one of the experienced students can work with you for the entire session.

Q. I want to compete, do you have a competition team?
A. Oh baby yes, we have a strong competition team and train very hard to compete. We compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Sombo, Submission Grappling and Cornish Wrestling. We compete at club level, regional and national, so we can find a competition level that suits you.
